The Atlantic puffin is one of those birds that never fails to make me smile. There's something about their colorful beaks and slightly awkward appearance that makes them impossible not to love.

When I created this piece, I kept thinking about how different puffins are from the way we usually see them. While most of us picture them standing on dramatic coastal cliffs, they actually spend most of their lives far out at sea.

I think that's one of the reasons I find them so fascinating. There's an entire part of their story that happens beyond our view, on the open ocean. And because they are perfectly adapted to a life between ocean and land, their future depends on healthy marine ecosystems. Changes in food availability, climate change and other pressures are making life increasingly difficult for puffin populations in some parts of their range.

That's why projects like SOS Puffin are so important. Led by the Scottish Seabird Centre, the project is helping to restore and protect puffin colonies along the Atlantic coast.

To support their work, 10% of every sale will be donated to the Scottish Seabird Centre's SOS Puffin project. If the limited edition sells out, a total of €1170 will be donated to help give these remarkable birds and the oceans they depend on a brighter future.
